The housing design of the cucumber harvesting robot includes, among other things, the top cover and bumper parts. We carefully designed each component and prepared it for production ready for rubber pressing.
We also supported VDL in developing a future vision, aiming to expand into other crops such as tomatoes, with modules for sorting and lighting the plants.
Current greenhouse workers are a costly factor. This robot works continuously, day and night, with utmost precision. The robust design makes maintenance and cleaning simple and efficient.
In designing the top cover, we considered various production options, ultimately choosing rubber pressing. By smartly configuring the parts to maximize press capacity, we achieved cost savings and created a robust, doubly curved, stiff sheet metal product in stainless steel. The collaboration with Phoenix 3D Metal is noteworthy.
