After thorough research of current products by interviewing store managers, staff, and users, as well as observing retailers and their behaviors, we identified many points for a future product. This ultimately led to the introduction of Arrondi, Smeva's new fully enclosed cooling display.
Our innovation presents itself as an island, fully closed with glass and visible from all angles with an elegant view. All of this is achieved without compromising available volume. The most groundbreaking aspect is the cooling airflow that circulates from the supporting center console.
In a world where it is essential to constantly seek sustainable solutions, Arrondi distinguishes itself from existing cooling systems. The use of sustainable cooling techniques reduces energy consumption and thereby the CO2 footprint.
The design team (Smeva/GBO) conducted extensive research on the ideal viewing angle for users and even applied virtual reality to simulate the ultimate shopping experience. The result is a product that is not only functional and efficient but also seamlessly meets the needs of shopping customers.
In addition to extensive collaboration during the process, we also focused on the production of several critical components, such as the door handle and corner piece, using injection molding technology. This technique is outside Smeva's comfort zone, but for us, it holds no secrets.
We designed the handle in a two-component injection molding solution, allowing for a high-quality finish in both matte and gloss, with a TPU interior for the necessary grip and a comfortable feel. In addition to the door handle, we also produce the corner pieces that secure the curved double glass panels.
