Nexans, the second largest cable manufacturer in the world, has received the prestigious Red Dot Award: Product Design 2021 for the design of the network switch called: XGigaSwitch DICE in collaboration with the Helmonds product design agency GBO Innovation makers.
The Red Dot Award: Product Design, whose origins date back to 1955, assesses the best products made each year. The Red Dot Jury consists of about 50 international design experts. The expert panel carefully evaluates each submission on assessment criteria such as functionality, ergonomics, durability and the degree of innovation. The design of the XGigaSwitch DICE has been praised as one of the winners for its excellent design.

The award-winning product is the core of a total solution for the network of IoT devices in smart buildings. The design of the network switch stands out for its contemporary design, user-friendly installation and wide deployability. The smart design of the ribs in the housing dissipates the generated process heat, which contributes to a device that is durable and quiet in use.

11th Red Dot Award
From June 22, 2021, the XGigaSwitch DICE will be on display in the “Design on Stage” exhibition at the Red Dot Design Museum Essen, where all award-winning products will be showcased.
