The competition was intense: almost 11,000 products were submitted from 57 countries. All hoping to receive the prestigious seal of quality. The jury process consisted of two phases, an online pre-selection and a three-day lasting physical assessment in Berlin. This year the jurors used the newly developed digital jury tool both on and offline. As a result, all submitted products were extensively assessed based on the challenging criteria: Idea, Differentiation, Function, Form, and impact. All award-winning entries are featured on www.ifdesign.com and published in the iF Design App.
A record number of 10,776 products and projects were registered for the iF DESIGN AWARD 2022.
Introducing the award-winning design
The Ranpak Geami Wrap ‘n Go™ is a manual paper converter providing a sustainable wrapping solution for the retail market. Die-cut kraft paper is expanded into a 3D honeycomb structure, protecting and cushioning a large range of products f.e. house- and tableware. The converter uses a 100% paper-based, recyclable and biodegradable packaging system, often replacing plastic alternatives. The Ranpak Geami Wrap ‘n Go™ metal housing is designed with durability and flexibility in mind. It can be placed on a counter or mounted on a wall. In both instances brackets can be added for tissue interleaf paper, providing even better surface protection.
