Develop an elegant and sustainable dispenser for jam and honey, maintaining traditional values while optimizing functionality. The challenge lies in designing an intuitive system for maintenance and a pump that can be easily removed for quick refilling during busy breakfast buffets.
The JAM in JAR, developed for Menz & Gasser, has had a significant impact on reducing disposable packaging in hotels and the hospitality industry. With this sustainable honey and jam dispenser, a full-fledged alternative to disposable packaging has been introduced.
The project began with a thorough Concept Card session to define the brand and product identity and establish the design direction. We complemented the analysis with mood boards and key design principles, laying a solid foundation for further project development, focusing on the combination of a traditional product in a modern application.
The final creation of JAM in JAR was supported by extensive user research. The process included the creation of idea sketches and the incorporation of feedback, leading to the final design with practical details, such as the easily removable internal pump design. This approach ensures a product that seamlessly meets the needs and expectations of both the user and the customer.
