Pillo, a soft and cuddly pillow, has groundbreaking impact on the care of people with Severe Multiple Disabilities (SMD). This unique product, operated with minimal pressure, functions as a game controller and opens the door to interactive games for people with severe motor impairments. Through close collaboration with care institutions, the design enhances the experience for both the target group and caregivers.
The product requires an on/off button, but due to the limited ability of the target group to operate it, a physical button is impractical. A traditional button would disrupt the gaming experience and cause confusion. The solution is to subtly integrate the power button into the logo. Both the design and engineering must consider this, with special attention to housing, PCB placement and materialization. For this product, we also manufacture the plastic components.

"During this project, I thoroughly enjoyed diving into the search for the right materials, suitable for the healthcare-related target group. Additionally, leading and ensuring the first production batches, while being the point of contact for the young, fun, and enthusiastic team, made the development of Pillo extra enjoyable and diverse."
