Light expert and Propeaq founder Toine Schoutens aims to make light therapy accessible to everyone with a portable solution: a modern-looking unisex glasses with built-in technology supported by an app. The GBO Team has realized a modern design incorporating patented light therapy technology.
Propeaq has established a strong position as an innovator in markets where quality of life and (athletic) results are crucial, with its first and second-generation glasses.
The Light Glasses are a perfect example of our integrated approach from sketch to shelf. Our responsibility for the delivered end product (including packaging) allows us and Propeaq to speak of a partnership where we work together on the success of the product.Â
Designing a 'facial-wearable' is a challenge in itself. Factors such as proportions, comfort, and aesthetics gain extra significance. In this case, an additional layer of complexity was added: the integration of electronic components, including a flexible circuit board, LEDs, and a battery. It was a true design puzzle to create a refined product while maintaining the desired sporty and elegant design.
To optimize the comfort of the glasses, the design focused around the weight, volume, stiffness, and flexibility. The team made significant efforts to realize the ideal design and personally tested the comfort with various prototypes. Subsequently, numerous models and prototypes were evaluated by the selected user group.
