Material optimization and functionality

Alternative production methods such as casting, thermoforming, 3D printing, and milling have limitations regarding geometry and available materials. In contrast, with injection molding, we can improve the material properties by adding specific additives, each of which has a positive effect on the final quality of the product. This allows us to increase stiffness, enhance flame retardant properties, and improve wear resistance. This freedom to optimize materials at the property level is one of the main advantages of injection molding. Furthermore, technical components and functions can be integrated directly into the design, reducing the complexity of assemblies.

For Buchrnhornen, we developed a fitting tool that allows the sizing for shoes to be determined on-site. The different size distributions are clearly arranged in an injection-molded box with a transparent lid. This project was completed within a few months, and the first production run includes 500 units.
